The state of the art in space technology

Experience the past and future of German and European spaceflight - live at Europe's leading aerospace location, Bremen. In Bremenhalle at the airport you first become familiar with the Spacelab, which returned to Bremen, the site of its production, in 1998 after a total of 22 missions. Its missions were milestones in the development of manned spaceflight.

From the airport it's only a stone's throw to EADS Space Transportation. The Spacelab was designed here by Europe's most important space vehicle manufacturer. This is where the upper stage of the European booster rocket Ariane is built and current ESA projects are realized, such as the unmanned space transport vehicle ATV, the Hopper orbital glider and the European ISS module Columbus. In the multimedia cinema we show you an impressive presentation of the pioneering achievements of this company, which has already written spaceflight history under such names as ERNO, DASA and Astrium.

Have you ever been in a space station? In the accessible life-size model of the laboratories, living and sleeping quarters of the ISS you get to know the everyday life of the astronauts: how they work at the station, how they spend their spare time, eat, wash and sleep - and at the same time circle around our planet every 90 minutes at an altitude of 400 km.

Key components for the European booster system Ariane are also produced in Bremen. Find out right on the spot what technologies will characterize spaceflight in the next decade.

In a three-dimensional virtual reality presentation you then experience how the International Space Station (ISS) is assembled in space - the first joint space station in human history, the springboard into space for future generations, results from the cooperation of many nations.

Finally you go to Restaurant 'Blixx' on the 8th floor above the airport and discuss your experiences, impressions and questions. After these exciting spaceflight impressions would you also like to get to know modern aviation technology close up? In the cockpit of a full flight simulator at Lufthansa's commercial pilot school you are the pilot and sit at the controls of a huge aircraft from takeoff to landing during your flight experience.

Group bookings from 10 persons.
